While the garden of the previous owners (the much-loved Margaret Hockey and her artist husband Patrick), was charming, it had become very overgrown by the time the Murdochs acquired the property.
To help guide them with the garden’s restoration, Euan and Kaye first engaged Heritage Landscape Architect Beth Wilson. Formal elements include circular ponds, statuary, and urns which perfectly complement the gracious old Queensland home, while swards of lawn give the garden essential space.
Oriental touches include the teahouse (installed by Patrick), the Torii gates flanked by magnolias, and imposing stands of bamboo.
