In Kanazawa we visit Kenrokuen, one of the trio of Japan’s greatest gardens. We travel to Okayama to visit Korakuen, another of Japan’s most beautiful gardens before taking the ferry to the island of Naoshima, in the Seto Inland Sea, and visit the underground Chichu Museum, designed by the architect Tadao Ando, and housing five of Monet’s huge waterlily canvasses. Take the bullet train to the ancient capital of Kyoto where we visit the extraordinary Miho Museum; visit the Geisha District at sundown; enjoy a cup of “Matcha” at Unryuin Temple; visit the Moss Garden, and the impressive Imperial gardens.
