Join Kim Woods Rabbidge on a 14 day tour (7th -20th May 2017) with Opulent Journeys to discover the best gardens and galleries of this culturally rich country. We stroll through temple gardens in Tokyo, view Mt. Fuji and the Shibazakura Festival of Moss Phlox. Travel to historic Takayama, en route to the impressive Matsumoto Castle. In Kanazawa we visit Kenrokuen, one of the trio of Japan’s greatest gardens. We travel to Okayama to visit Korakuen, another of Japan’s most beautiful gardens before taking the ferry to the island of Naoshima, in the Seto Inland Sea, and visit the underground Chichu Museum, designed by the architect Tadao Ando, and housing five of Monet’s huge waterlily canvasses. Take the bullet train to the ancient capital of Kyoto where we visit the extraordinary Miho Museum; visit the Geisha District at sundown; enjoy a cup of “Matcha” at Unryuin Temple; visit the Moss Garden, and the impressive Imperial gardens.
